Puntoweb and Lego invest in two Timsons presses
Easydot, Timsons representative in Italy, is currently installing two Timsons presses at Puntoweb and at Lego S.p.A.. The two-colour Timsons T32 (which can print up to 128 pages and 64 with a repeat run) has been purchased second-hand and is expected to enter in production within a month, as confirmed by Puntoweb Maurizio Farina. The press will be located in the Ariccia plant alongside two other Timsons, a T48 and a T32, and will increase the production capacity of paperback and hardbound books.
At LEGO’s factory in Lavis, at the end of August, works will begin to prepare the installation area for a new four-colour Timsons T14 press. The press will be delivered by the end of October and will start production by the end of the year.

Elcograf in HP T490 double install
Two HP printing machines have replaced two Cameron book presses and their prepress and setup processes and will be used as two production machines for medium-high runs. Elcograf is planning to print on white or cream uncoated paper, though the company noted that it is also possible to use coated papers.
The company has installed a system from VITS International that allows it to change the sheets with minimal waste between one book and another, and equipment from Muller Martini for in-line finishing. Domenico Fasoli, Plant Manager at Elcograf, explained: “Our configuration allows us to start with white paper and end up with the final product already placed in pallets. We have reproduced the production line of the Cameron, but with digital printing.”

Easydot will supply Timsons spare parts and maintenance services throughout Europe
Following the closing of Timsons Ltd offset and digital printing divisions, the newly established Timsons Engineering Ltd (TEL) will produce original spare parts for Timsons presses. TEL will also offer software and remote support; the UK company has also acquired intellectual property rights for everything related to press design, although production of offset and digital presses is not currently expected to resume. As part of a global restructuring, Easydot has been appointed as TEL agent for the supply of spare parts and specialist technical support on the European market – with the exclusion of the United Kingdom.
